Following the emergence of controversial images, sitting MP from Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh, Upendra Singh Rawat, retracted his candidacy. In a post on his official X account, Rawat stated, “A doctored video of mine is being circulated, generated through deepfake AI technology, for which I have filed an FIR. I have requested respected National President J.P. Nadda to investigate this matter. Until I am proven innocent, I will not contest any elections.”
