    सूत्रों से मिली सूचना के मुताबिक बीते पांच वर्ष में तीन लाख से अधिक पुरुष को महिला कोच में यात्रा करने के जुर्म में पकड़ा गया है। आरटीआई कार्यकर्ता से मिली जानकारी के मुताबिक साल 2019 में 1,13,501, 2020 में 23,361, 2021 में 25,026, 2022 में 63,741 और 2023 में 77,985 पुरुषों को ट्रेन के महिला कोच से यात्रा करने के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया गया।

    महिला कोच में यात्रा करने वाले पुरुषों की संख्या निरंतर बढ़ती जा रही है। जिससे महिलाओं के लिए रेलवे द्वारा की गई विशेष कोच की व्यवस्था धराशायी हो गई है। कोविड के दौरान स्पेशल ट्रेन के चलने से महिला कोच में पुरुषों की यात्रा कम हुई थी। लेकिन पुनः वही स्थिति आ गई है और महिलाओं को रिजर्व कोच में भी रिजर्व जैसा कुछ फील नहीं होता है।

    सजा का प्रावधान:

    अगर कोई पुरुष महिला कोच में यात्रा करता है। तो पकड़े जाने पर धारा 162 के तहत कार्यवाही की जाती है। व्यक्ति पर 500 रूपये का जुर्माना लगता है। जुर्माना राशि न भरने पर 6 माह की सजा का प्रावधान है।
