रिक्टर स्केल पर इस भूकंप की तीव्रता 5.6 मापी गई. झटके इतनी तेज थे कि लोग अपने घरों से बाहर निकलकर भागने लगे. लोग झटका लगते ही सीढ़ियों की सहारे नीचे की ओर भागे। दोपहर का समय होने की की वजह से कामकाजी लोग दफ्तरों में थे। इस भूकंप का केंद्र भी नेपाल ही था।

पाकिस्तानी धार्मिक पार्टी जमीयत उलेमा-ए-इस्लाम पाकिस्तान (JUI-F) के चीफ मौलाना फजल-उर-रहमान ने कतर में हमास नेताओं इस्माइल हानियेह और खालिद मशाल से मुलाकात की और हमास के लोगों को एकजुट होने का संदेश दिया। फजल-उर-रहमान ने हमास को इंगित करते हुए कश्मीर का भी मुद्दा उठाया। उन्होंने कहा- हमास और कश्मीर में अन्याय हो रहा है। यह अन्याय उन लोगों के मुँह पर जोरदार तमाचा है जो अन्य देशों में मानवाधिकार के उल्लंघन पर बड़ी-बड़ी दलीलें देते हैं और उन देशों की निंदा करते हैं। 

उन्होंने आगे कहा- आज गाजा की जो दशा है उसके जिम्मेदार विकसित देश हैं। विकसित देशों के हाथ गाजा के निर्दोषों के खून से सने हुए हैं। फलीस्तीन के लोग अपने हक की लड़ाई लड़ रहे हैं। वह लोग अपनी जमीन के लिए लड़ रहे हैं। आम नागरिकों की मौत हो रही हैं और विकसित देश तमासा देख रहे हैं। मौन साधे हुए इजराइल की हिंसक गतिविधियों को समर्थन दे रहे हैं। 

बता दें 7 अक्टूबर से 4,800 बच्चों सहित 9,770 से अधिक लोग मारे जा चुके हैं। गाजा में बढ़ती मौत के कारण अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर गुस्सा बढ़ गया है। वाशिंगटन से लेकर बर्लिन तक हजारों लोग सड़कों पर युद्ध विराम की मांग कर रहे हैं। लेकिन इजराइल गाजा पर आत्मघाती हमला करने से रुक ही नहीं रहा है। अगर हमला ऐसे ही चलता रहा तो विश्व को इसका खामियाजा भुगतना पड़ सकता है। क्योंकि बीतते समय के साथ इजराइल और हमास का युद्ध धार्मिक रूप लेता जा रहा है।
